This is my first Deutch Schalmay and it sounds at 392-400Hz. We see Middile C# in periodical score for Schalmay. However It's difficult fingering without metal key. If it has large key, It will become easy to attack the note. The fingering is (123 45-key). This is Eb fingering. But it sounds a whole tone low ! I think this replica plays with wool mute in the bell and the a peg through key hole work as the mute stopper. The surviving one which Stockholm musical instrument museum is hadden has a bell peg for resonance hole. So The Deutch shcalmay has 2 pegs ordinaly, I think.
